To Be A Gentleman

“Anyone can be heroic from time to time, but a gentleman is something you have to be all the time.” – Luigi Pirandello

Chivalry goes back a long time, so before I start, let me preface this blog by saying you can pick up all the stuff you’ve heard about the way Old School Gentlemen behaved and toss it. None of the “taking off your hat when you enter a room” or “only taking a seat when it is offered to you” applies to us anymore. Don’t get me wrong, some of the old rules do still apply. You should always hold the door open for a lady, to name one. But we are the New School Gentlemen. The Modern Gentlemen. And we play by a whole new set of rules.

“A gentleman is one who puts more into the world than he takes out. ” – George Bernard Shaw
